Joshua R. Anthony


Attorney Bio

Mr. Anthony has nearly two decades of experience assisting clients with separation, divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, settlement negotiations, and enforcement issues. While Mr. Anthony believes that the most effective and successful resolution of family law matters occurs outside of the courtroom where clients have control over the outcome, Mr. Anthony has the skills and experience to effectively and efficiently advocate for his clients when settlement is not possible.

Mr. Anthony believes that it is key for his clients to know all of the options available to them and that they understand how the legal system works to resolve family law issues. Mr. Anthony takes pride in helping his clients think through their options and consider how their decisions will impact them and their families both now and in the future.

Prior to joining ShounBach as a partner, Mr. Anthony was a partner at Bittel & Anthony, P.C. (formerly Law Offices of Beth A. Bittel, PC), where he commenced employment in 2003. Mr. Anthony obtained his law degree from the George Mason University School of Law and he has been a member of the Virginia State Bar and Fairfax Bar Association since 2004.

Mr. Anthony received his bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Psychology and Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Education, from San Diego State University. Prior to relocating to Northern Virginia in 2001 to attend law school, he was an elementary school teacher in San Diego.

When Mr. Anthony is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball.
